Jaw-dropping Street Art Murals by French Graffiti Artist “Hopare”

“Hopare” is Alexandre Monteiro, a graffiti artist and painter from France. Hopare’s work is extraordinary; he creates emotive movement in his art works by including abstract shapes and fluid lines to create a sense that color is exploding out from the painting or moving from one point to another within the design. His use of line work in his paintings give the impression that his human and animal subjects are faceted like gemstones yet still retain their soft, organic nature. This creates a juxtaposition within the art work because it seems impossible for any living being to be both as hard as diamond and as delicate as a human being.

Monteiro often uses human subjects to create a portrait of a specific emotion. He displays his ideas on the streets for all the world to see and ponder, and because of his human subjects, his street art murals are very appealing to the human eye. He sometimes uses recognizable faces in his paintings and has painted graffiti portraits of the Mona Lisa, Nelson Mandela and Salvador Dali.

There are elements of tribal patterns in Hopare’s designs that accent the modern, graphic feel of his art works. Along with the vibrant color palette, Hopare’s paintings offer the viewer much to entertain their imagination. You can find his art works in Paris, Montreal or Venice or view his online art portfolio on his website.
