Oneq Nao is a Japanese artist who combines American and Japanese visual styles to create luscious ladies with full lips, curvy hips and an exaggeratedly feminine appeal. There is an element of art nouveau in Oneq’s art works. It reminds one of the popular posters that were created to advertise absinthe in the early 20th century. Like those absinthe posters, Oneq uses female figures as the central subject of her art works and to add sensualism and seductiveness to the geometric and graphic design elements of each image. The women languish in irresistible poses, which, along with Oneq’s curvaceous line-work, gives each design a tactile nature.
In each of Oneq’s illustrations, hints of pop art, American comic book art and manga (Japanese comic book art) can be seen. This creates an international appeal and gives the art works both a sense of classicism and modern experimentation. Visit Oneq Nao’s Facebook page for more info and pin-up girl pictures.
