Gabriel Moreno was born in Baena, Spain in 1973. This Spanish artist creates highly detailed graphic portraits that often use beautiful women as subjects. The texture of long hair is a prominent feature in many of Moreno’s art portraits, streaming in long ribbons across the page to create sensuality and movement within the art work. Moreno often includes nature in his portraits in the form of birds, flowers, fish and butterflies. Each of the flora and fauna have their own symbolism in art which add to the meaning within the painting.<\/p>\n

Moreno often works in mixed media, incorporating pencil, pen and ink and ink washing in his art to create varied textures. This use of different art mediums also adds to the high contrast within Moreno’s art, offsetting one art medium against another. Gabriel Moreno uses contrast in his art works in a variety of ways; by using contrasting colors such as blue and red, setting areas of texture against flat surfaces and by using the extremes of black against white. This use of traditional art techniques means that Gabriel Moreno’s art isn’t just lovely to look at; it can also be appreciated on a technical level.<\/p>\n
