Xanda Bach and friends have found a way to make use of all those empty bottles after a party – fill each bottle with a specific amount of water and then make music with them. For this video, the team blew into the top of each bottle in sequence and very slowly. The video was later sped up\u00a0so that the tune could be heard at its actual speed.<\/p>\n
The tune in question? Well, most of us would probably say, “Tetris!” because the song was used by Nintendo as the theme for their massively popular game, Tetris, in 1989. However, Nintendo didn’t make up this melody; it’s an old Russian folk song known as “Korobeiniki<\/a>“. The song is based on a poem with the same name by\u00a0Nikolay Nekrasov. The song tells a story of a romance between a peddlar and a peasant girl, with some of the lyrics being humorously suggestive. While the majority of the poem is quite upbeat and inspiring, the ending sucks. According to the poem, the peddlar, who had successfully seduced the peasant girl and was returning to her after a successful day the market, asked for direction from a forest ranger, who proceeded to mug and murder the peddlar. Bummer.<\/p>\n
