Lora Zombie is a self-taught artist from Russia who works chiefly in watercolor paint and pencil. Her paintings are colorful and fun with an essence of punk and grunge. Her paintings depict a carefree existence in which her characters live without compromise and without sweating the small stuff. Her cheerful paintings have earned her quite a following online and brought her to the notice of art galleries around the world. This is art that has meaning in any language, and any culture.<\/p>\n

Children, animals and superheroes abound in Lora Zombie’s watercolor paintings, often with brightly colored, punk-styled hair and piercings that add to the grunge nature of her art works. Each of these characters portrays a sense of innocence even while wearing anarchy t-shirts and wielding a baseball bat with a nail in it. The delightful part of this combination of innocence and rebellion is that while Lora Zombie introduces symbols and objects that are associated with violence, they are presented in a non-violent manner in her paintings.<\/p>\n
