Nychos is an Austrian artist, illustrator and street artist who was born and raised in a little Austrian village near Graz by a family of hunters. Introduced to hunting at a young age, Nychos saw death first hand and became fascinated with the processes of skinning and butchering animals. Anatomy and the delicate line between life and death intrigued Nychos, who later expressed this fascination through his art by dissecting animals, people and cartoon characters.

His style is deeply influenced by cartoons, as he says he was part of the 80s generation that was raised by television. Combining macabre and often shocking subject matter with a cheerful art style gives Nychos’ art an edge that is not often seen. His unusual style has been appreciated the world over by other artists who often invite Nychos to collaborate on graffiti and illustration projects. Nychos has worked with The Weird graffiti crew and has started his own collaborative group called Rabbit Eye Movement, which was so named because of how affected he has felt by both the White Rabbit from Alice in Wonderland and the famous animated film, “Watership Down”.
