Daniel Montero Galan was born in Madrid, Spain in 1981 and still lives there. He says that he struggled to verbally express himself as a child so he turned to communicating with the world through art. Galan’s style is similar to that of Japanese artist Takeo Takei, but has a modern, humorous twist to it. Galan distorts the proportions of his abstract, often fantastical characters to add a humorous edge to his designs.

Working chiefly in watercolor paint, Daniel Montero Galan also uses markers, pens, dyes, inks and bleach to create his illustrations, adding that most of his art works contain traces of his cat, who likes to lie on top of his paintings. Galan has illustrated several children’s books and has created artistic interior decor for a number of establishments. His fun, unusual style is appealing to both children and adults with its eye-catching curves and subtle textures.
