Svenja Jödicke was born in Berlin, Germany and grew up in a large, creative family. Although art had always played an improtant role in her life, it was only in 2012 that she turned to art professionally. Not only did painting become a profession for Svenja, it became a way for her to express her experiences with living on the streets and rebelling against societal norms.

Jödicke uses a number of watercolor techniques in her paintings, creating splashy, emotive effects that resemble the works of Agnes Cecile. Jödicke uses human faces as the subject matter of her art, adding beautiful, artistic elements to enhance the aesthetic and emotive appeal of the painting. She is obsessed with eyes, often making a single eye or a pair of eyes the focus of her art as she feels that it through eye expressions that her human subjects reveal the most about themselves.
