INTI is a graffiti artist from Santiago, Chile. His enormous street art paintings are giving the world of graffiti art a new appeal; turning an entire side of a building into a large scale art work brings fine art out of the galleries and into the streets. Inti’s graffiti paintings don’t resemble the messy scrawls and amateur art works that most people associate with graffiti art. Instead, his enormous paintings drag the rebellious genre of graffiti art into the realm of fine art through their quality and uniqueness.<\/p>\n

Inti’s art style isn’t a common style used in graffiti art, resembling more the works of the Pop Surrealists than mainstream graffiti styles. Pop surrealism is a current fine art genre that has roots in traditional surrealism but contains elements that are influenced by modern media and popular culture such as cartoons and corporate emblems. Unlike most other pop surrealists, Inti’s characters are truly original, not resembling the media characters that people of Inti’s generation were raised with. Each painting makes a clear social, political, religious or personal statement that is presented in Inti’s eye-catching surrealist style.
