Richardson rebels against previous beliefs that “breaking” an animal with force is the best way to subdue the animal. Instead of using this brutal approach, Richardson creates relationships with the animals, learning what makes each animal happy, sad, playful or annoyed. Although big cats can be rough at times they exhibit a playfulness around Richardson that few animals express around human beings.
