Kevin Richardson is an animal behaviorist from South Africa who is also known as the Lion Whisperer and the Lion Man. Although he has worked with a number of large and small animals, he is most renowned for his work with big cats and the king of the beasts; lions.<\/p>\n

Richardson rebels against previous beliefs that “breaking” an animal with force is the best way to subdue the animal. Instead of using this brutal approach, Richardson creates relationships with the animals, learning what makes each animal happy, sad, playful or annoyed. Although big cats can be rough at times they exhibit a playfulness around Richardson that few animals express around human beings. Kevin Richardson’s work with African animals is changing the way the human society perceives these animals. Instead of fearing lions, Kevin Richardson has found his place among them, proving that humans do still have a place in the wild, and the wilderness has a place in us.<\/p>\n
