Here is a funny but simple way to catch a kangaroo, posted on Youtube by Kookabugga. The video shows an Australian bloke catching a baby kangaroo by simply offering the animal a shopping bag to fall into. I can’t tell if the guy is an animal handler who has trained the kangaroo to tumble into the bag, or if it’s just an oddity of the outback that kangaroos will fall into anything that resembles mum’s pouch. Either way it’s a good giggle!

In the Australian outback, kangaroos are very common and are easily spotted by hopeful tourists out on wildlife safaris. But drivers beware – kangaroos are known for jumping in front of cars and can cause quite a lot of damage to motor vehicles, and cause upset among kangaroo-loving kids. There are many petting zoos in Australia that offer visitors the chance to interact with kangaroos, and this sounds like way more fun than possibly getting lost in the hot and dry Australian outback and maybe knocking a roo down. Maybe the petting zoo will even let you try out your kangaroo-catching skills with a shopping bag!
