John Kenn (aka Don Kenn) is a Danish director of television shows for kids. Between his job and raising twins, Kenn had his hands full. But when he has a moment to himself, he draws monsters and boogie men on post-it notes. He calls his hobby “a little window into a different world, made on office supplies.” A block of post-it notes can be carried in a pocket, which means that John Kenn’s artistic hobby can be taken anywhere with him.<\/p>\n
Kenn’s art often depicts creepy situations, such as taking out the trash on a dark night or walking alone down an empty street. Even though it is difficult to take his monsters seriously and be truly freaked out by them, their presence in John Kenn’s art is a tribute to their imagined existence in reality. The majority of John Kenn’s Post-it note monsters are enormous beasts, terrifying simply for being larger than human beings. His illustrated creatures of horror are often humanoid, which adds to their scare factor; drawing similarities between the predatory monsters and their human prey.<\/p>\n
