The Movember Song

Derick Watts and the Sunday Blues sing a parody of Carly Rae Jepsen’s “Call Me Maybe”, as a part of a campaign to raise awareness about testicular cancer. Every year in Movember hundreds of thousands of men from Ireland, Canada, Czech Republic, Denmark, Spain, the United Kingdom, Israel, South Africa, Taiwan and the United States grow a mustache in support of the Movember campaign.

The Movember Foundation created this global event in an attempt not only to raise awareness about male forms of cancer, but to encourage men (mo bros) from around the world to man up and visit a doctor for a check up. Early diagnosis of cancer often means that there is a better chance of the sufferer recovering. Healthy events such as fun runs, ball games and other manly pastimes have been organized as part of the Movember campaign to raise funds for cancer research and to promote a healthy lifestyle for men.

If you enjoyed this song, take a look at Derick Watts and the Sunday Blues’ website for more musical humor from these South African singers. Read the Wikipedia entry on Movember for more info and if you’re unsure as to how to grow a mustache, Nick Offerman will show you how.
