Human Ventriloquist turns People into Puppets

Nina Conti is a ventriloquist and comedienne born in 1974 in London, England. Conti uses audience members as her ventriloquist dummies, transforming them from people to puppets with the aid of a face mask. The mask is built so that the comedian can control the mouth movements by squeezing a small balloon. While Nina Conti is controlling the mouth, the person wearing the mask controls their body movements. This juxtaposition of action makes for funny viewing, adding to the overall comedic effect of Nina Conti’s shows.
