Fantastic Fan Art by Vlad Rodriguez

Vlad Rodriguez is a Peruvian artist based in Miami, USA who is widely renowned for his high quality fan art and movie posters. His style is a combination of digital art, illustration and painting; a combination which blends traditional art techniques with modern technology. He expresses his own opinions of his subjects through the direction of brushstrokes and the visual effects that he has included in each art work, forms which are editable thanks to the ability to undo or erase areas of a digital canvas in a program like Photoshop.

By focusing on popular culture as a subject for his art works, Rodriguez is able to engage with his audience. There’s something very appealing about seeing an artist’s rendition of a favorite television or film character. Among his most appreciated art works are pieces based on the film Fight Club, the hit TV series Game of Thrones and the cult movie The Fifth Element. Rodriguez is a master of expressing emotion through art; for tense action scenes he uses thrilling streaks of color to portray heightened emotions and movement. In a piece that requires a more sinister, pensive set of emotions; Rodriguez creates this mood in the painting by using short brushtrokes, high contrast and textures such as splatters or dribbles.

Vlad Rodriguez is prominent on the internet. For links to his social media pages, visit his website. For more examples of his art, check out these posts on DesignCollector and InspirationFeed.
