Electric Violin and Beatbox: Moonlight Grenade

This video’s for all the musicians who enjoy experimental sound creation methods. Electric violinst Jason Yang and beatboxer Jake Moulton team up to create a unique, modern sound. Using sound looping techniques, the duo create a mash up compilation song of Beethoven’s “Moonlight Sonata” and Bruno Mars’ “Grenade”. The finished song also contains elements that were inspired by Muse and Kanye West.

Sound looping is a technique that is becoming more and more popular with modern musicians. It is a technique that is truly modern, as it relies on technology that has only been around for a few decades. The musician needs to have an excellent sense of timing and a great well of creativity to make the most of sound looping equipment.
