Chino Otsuka Photoshops Her Adult Self into Her Childhood Photos

Born in Japan, Chino Otsuka spent her childhood travelling around the world and has the photographs to prove it. As an art project, Otsuka photoshopped her adult self into those childhood photos, often returning to the place where the original photograph was taken in order to give the resulting art work a genuine feel.

Otsuka’s artistic, imaginative images of herself as both child and adult are endearing, because they give a visual reference to every human being’s relationship with themselves. She has called this project “Imagine Finding Me” and introduces it with the words, “If, again I have the chance to meet, there is so much I want to ask, and so much I want to tell.” The photos are appealing in that they give the impression that the artist has travelled through time to spend a few moments hanging out with herself as a child.

Chino Otsuka lives in the UK and is involved in a variety of artistic pursuits. You can find out more about her work on her website.
