Optical illusions are art works, photographs and designs that trick the mind into seeing something that isn’t actually there, or into not seeing something that is right in front of you. Some illusions rely on the brain’s tendency to jump to conclusions, while others reveal how different people think.
It’s always interesting to look at optical illusions with a group of people, because generally, half of the group will see one thing while the other half of the group sees something completely different. Is it a young lady or and old lady? Is it a duck or a rabbit?
If you’re still hankering for more illusions to look at after these ones, take a look at these two artists, Octavio Ocampo and Sandro del Prete for surrealist optical illusions or have a giggle at these pictures in Interactive Optical Illusions at the Trick Art Museum
